Three players, three buffs, three monsters, one battle mat. The last player standing wins. The battle mat has obstacles. Impose 30 foot maximum limitations on all ranged attacks, spell ranges, and movement. At random locations around the edge of the battle mat, introduce three different types of monsters with challenge ratings that matche party’s average. Give the monsters a reasonable number of hit points (I suggest 30), that is the same or less than the players. All other monster effects and abilities remain intact.
Adding monsters can be something you do to any PvP scenario. This changes the strategy of the players as their main objective remains killing the other players to be the last one standing, but the monsters change their tactics. I’ve seen some players cooperate to defeat a monster before resuming hostilities toward each other. It’s a lot of fun and is a good action-packed scenario to end your game session.
If this made your session better, buying me a coffee keeps the Vault stocked.
