About Ruckerworks

My name is Steve Williamson, and I’ve been a Dungeon Master since 1980. This means I’ve been running campaigns before most of the people writing D&D content today were born. That’s not a brag, it’s just context. Everything on this site comes from actual experience at real gaming tables, including the mistakes, the recoveries, and the lessons that came from both. I’m still learning from every game I prep and run.

Steve Williamson, Founder of Ruckerworks

Ruckerworks is where that experience gets shared.

If you’re a Dungeon Master looking for practical advice, ready-to-use adventure content, or a free library of encounters and hooks built from real campaigns, you’re in the right place. If you’re a D&D player who wants to understand the game better or just enjoy the conversation around it, there’s plenty here for you too.

Here’s what you’ll find:

The Vault — A free library of adventures, encounters, locations, NPCs, and more, drawn from over four decades of actual campaigns. Take what you need and use it at your table. Did we mention it’s all free?

The Blog and YouTube Channel — Practical advice on dungeon mastering and D&D, for players and DMs who want to get more out of the game. New content every week.

Fiction — Four fantasy novels in the Taesian Chronicles series and The Quiet Hand, a standalone murder mystery. Available as eBooks and in paperback.

Tabletop RPGs — Ashes of Isar (a WW2 espionage RPG), Solus Domini (a solo hex-crawl and dungeon adventure system), and D&D adventures and supplements.

The Shop — Everything in one place.
